“Hello Cave Springs Camp!
My name is Tim Watson and I am the new Program Director at Cave Springs! I am so excited to be beginning this role at such an incredible camp.
I have been going on camping trips since I was 5 months old and I have been involved in summer camps as a volunteer, staff, and director since 2011. I’ve spent most of my camp career at Ryerson United Church Camp and Five Oaks Retreat Centre.
My first experience at Cave Springs was helping out with the Family Camp Weekend in 2015. I loved the community here and have looked for ways to be involved ever since. I’m excited to be a part of bringing fun and safe programming to the beautiful Cave Springs site. Cave has such a beautiful community and so many wonderful traditions and memories. It is an honour to get the chance to guide this community that means so much to so many people. Cave Springs is moving into a new chapter as we gradually make our way out of Covid and explore new possibilities for year-round programming. There is so much potential in this site and I am looking forward to seeing where that potential takes us.
Here is some more info about me. I grew up in Guelph and now live in Hamilton. I have slept outside at least one night every winter since 2014. My favourite camp activities are canoeing, cooking marshmallows, group time, and capture the flag. When I’m not helping to run camps I love playing music, biking, cooking, and playing board games with family and friends.
