Integration at Cave Springs
Our integration program is designed to ensure Cave Springs is a place where all campers can be part of the fun. Our camp counsellors will provide your camper with 1:1 support in order to help them be included in all aspects of camp life.
During each camp session there will be a designated number of 1:1 support spaces for campers. Registration will be done at a first come first serve basis. In order to reserve a spot for this summer please be in touch via email at email@example.com.
Your child must be within the designated age group for that week.
Day Camp: 1:1 support available 5-12 years old. Weeks are subdivided by the age groups that are onsite. Please select a week with the appropriate age group by referencing the chart below.
Costs for our Integration Program for 2021 include the base cost of the camp session PLUS the cost of 1:1 staff support. The total cost per week is reflected above ($250 base camp cost + $280 weekly staff wages)
What to Expect
1. Email the camp director at firstname.lastname@example.org with your 1st
and 2nd choice of session for your camper to attend this
upcoming summer. The camp director will confirm receipt of your email and
register your camper in 1 of the
requested sessions (space dependent).
**If both of your requested sessions are full the camp director will contact you directly about an alternative session.
2. Once the director has registered your camper you will complete preliminary registration paperwork and payment online via CampBrain registration system
3. Our camp integration co-ordinator will call you a minimum of one month before your child attends camp. They will gather information to assist our staff in supporting your child at camp.
4. On the first day of camp be prepared to spend some time with your child’s camp counsellor going over any pertinent information and answering any questions they may have.
Campers participating in our 1:1 support program will be paired with a staff member (typically an older teenager) that will be their “buddy” throughout their week at camp to provide additional assistance and supervision as needed. While this staff member may not have specialized training working with children with special needs outside of the camp setting, they will be someone that is responsible, caring, and patient.
Our staff also receive comprehensive in-house training to learn how to assist campers with physical, emotional, personal care and social needs. The assigned staff member will do their best to assist the camper to have the most fun possible at camp and will assist them to form meaningful bonds with their peers. With as much assistance as is needed, the camper will be encouraged to complete the maximum amount of camp activities alongside their peer group- such as canoeing, hiking, high rope, campout, games and more. Please contact the camp director if you are unsure if this program would be a good fit for your child.
Please be in touch with the camp director at email@example.com with any questions.
Remember that you MUST confirm your space with the camp director prior to completing the registration process for 1:1 support.
