The Leadership Team is an excellent opportunity for experienced leaders looking to take a next step in their leadership development. Composed of 6 individuals who assist the Directing Team in overseeing specific areas of the camp program, as well as providing support and mentorship for staff and campers. All members of the Leadership Team will have opportunities to facilitate camper programming and staff training and should be excited to be a part of the wider camp community.
The job is split into two main seasons:
May and June (optional): facilitating programming for onsite rental and school groups, opportunity to assist in summer planning and receive additional training
July and August (mandatory): focus on managing designated areas of camp, providing staff mentorship, assisting with camper programming
Health Care Co-ordinator
Responsible for maintaining the operation of the camp wellness centre. Weekly tasks include: intake of all camper health forms, screening and flagging any noteworthy health conditions, ensuring all dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen, briefing staff on important camper health notes for the upcoming week. Daily tasks include assessment and treatment of injury and illness in staff and campers, maintenance of all wellness centre documentation, administration of daily medications. Candidates should have experience and/or education in a health related field.
Including Asst. Head Day Camp, Asst. Head Programming, Asst. Head Overnight
Work in conjunction with the Directing Team to manage scheduling, staffing, and programming for their areas. Candidates will ideally have some previous camp experience and a wealth of ideas about how to implement quality staff training, and camper programming. Positions are ideal for young leaders looking to take the next step in their leadership development. Under the mentorship of our experienced Directing Team they will have opportunities to take on tasks specific to their individual goals and interests.
Asst. Heads will be looked to as community leaders and should be excited to embrace the spirit of life-long learning.
Responsible for promoting the smooth running of an integrated camp experience for all. Specific duties will include assisting staff members assigned to be 1:1 integration counselors each week. Duties include developing camper care profiles, communicating with families, and coaching staff in managing positive group dynamics. Candidates should have experience and comfort working with a variety of physical, social, and cognitive exceptionalities.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Cave Springs pool. Candidates should have good working knowledge of the current Ontario Ministry of Health Pool Regulations. Responsible for ongoing training of all lifeguards throughout the camp season. Will oversee the scheduling of pool times and lifeguard shifts.
Head of Ropes
Responsible for overseeing the High Ropes and Low Ropes programs. Candidates should have exceptional skills in facilitation and debriefing and should have extensive climbing experience. Formal certification as a RCI (Ropes Course Instructor) must be completed before the beginning of the summer season.

-Have previous experience working in summer camping (preferred), or equivalent experience.
