Selected candidates will be invited to an interactive hiring day at Cave Springs Camp, Beamsville beginning at 9:30am.
Responsible for the care and supervision of camper groups throughout the day. Accompany their groups to all activities and will have numerous opportunities to plan and facilitate programming for their campers.
Work in assigned teams each week in charge of a group of approximately 8-12 campers. Group leaders will also have opportunities to work as 1:1 integration support leaders for campers with exceptionalities.
Must excel at forming meaningful connections with children and youth ages 5-15. Group leaders are responsible for building team dynamic and community bonds within their camper groups and within the wider camp community.
Must live on site at camp for the duration of each camp session (Sunday afternoon-Friday evening). All meals are provided Sunday dinner – Friday dinner. Option to spend Saturday days off onsite. Work with campers age 7-15, weeks are divided into smaller age brackets. Provide mentorship for volunteers and serventhood leadership program participants. Enjoy opportunities for camp out, evening games, daily campfires, and close community bonds.
Day Camp Counsellors
Have the option of going home each night OR living onsite at camp. Counsellors that live onsite will have the opportunity to participate in planning and implementing creative programming for overnight campers in the evenings. Work with campers age 5-10 every week. Must be available to stay at camp overnight each Wednesday for day camp sleepover night. All lunches provided.
All Group Leaders will:
–Be a minimum of 16 years of age by December 31, 2020
-Have strong leadership, initiative, and ability to work in a team leadership environment
-Be open and inviting to all that are at Cave Springs Camp regardless of race, gender, age and background
-Enjoy working with children and possess relevant soft skills in youth interaction
-Gain soft skills in teamwork, facilitation, and problem solving
-Gain hard skills in canoeing, high ropes, hiking, archery, and more
